Be My Guest...!! - III

For story until now Go To the END :

Chapter Three - A Dream So Real

A Salute to BRAM STOKER on his 165th Birthday

Oh! My dear lord...
I slept so dead last night
That even the moving train
Couldn't keep me
from sleeping tight.
Where to the time pass by?
and when did the sun rise so high?
I slept for so long and Oh! so tight
That now, the evening light is shimmering bright.
Still am feeling way too tired
As if I've worked so hard
I guess in my sleep,
Maybe I had a dream
A dream where
I was running away
where to I coudn't say
mortal fear gripping my soul
but afraid of what I couldn't know.
All I remember was running away
All I felt was running away
But I can't remember
who was chased
to far far away.

I was awaken by sudden brake
The train stopped
in some lonely place
I rise up to look around
Everyone was sleeping
Motionless people
Motionless all were.
The train started again
but still motionless all were
in this train.
The moving train
travelling in darkness
heading into a tunnel
where darkness lay hidden.

"Mr.Ray... Mr.Ray..!"
I tired to wake him up
But he was sleeping so deep
Even my yelling voice
Couldn't penetrate through his dream land.
Everyone in the train was
Lost in a similar state
I couldn't move a single sole
All my screams were in vain.

I panicked
And thence started to sweat
But looking outside I saw snow
covering the earth under its white shroud
Seems like the earth was dead
for several years under these chills.
"Jesus help me, I am frighten"
Unable to understand
What I have gotten myself into
"Oh! Lord... Oh! Lord
Save my soul
From this darkness and this evil train"
I prayed and open my eyes
to my astonishment
everything was dark outside
I believe we entered the tunnel
its so dark, its pitch black
Its night under the daylight.

I turned my lamp on
closed the window
for freezing breeze.
I had nothing more to do
other than wait
wait for people to wake up
wait for someone to call my name
for some small talk
or this silence is driving me insane.

I waited and waited
I waited long enough
for my watch seemed like
past couple of hour and half
but not a motion in this train
nor tunnel we were passing has ended
the same darkness all along
and everyone is lost
in their own dream lands.
Its frustrating!!
and my heart was beating fast
sweating like a pig
and breathing hard.
I opened the window for some air
but so suffocated
and chocked I have got.
"Oh!! dear God...
Whats happening"
I rise from my place to take a walk
I couldn't pass through my boggy
for its block with walls
I looked for the door
but found none.
"No... No... No!!
I am getting insane"
I looked again at the watch
and 4 hours had gone
"Atleast the time is passing away
I can tell in this crazy train
its the only thing that defines
that am sane"
"Mr. Ray for God Sake
Please wake up,
Please talk to me
jus take my name
or Say a word..."
He didn't move
As if he is dead
"Anybody..!! Anybody..!!
Somebody... Talk to me
AHHHAAA!!!!"
I shouted and sobbed
at one place.

There was a long silence
other than the sound of the train
The quiteness in here
was testing patience.
Then suddenly... "Hello Mister!!"
Voice of a Lady refering me
"You're so manificiantly handsome"
with a pause "and young
Why so depressed??"
She possessed the beauty of a goddess
an angel came from heaven
I looked at my watch again
to ensure am not insane or dreaming
5 more hours had gone by
since am awake.

I kept looking at her whilst she said again
"Hello Sir...
I heard your voice
Came searching for you"
"Oh!! Goddess came herself
to save my soul
from this insanity of loniless
giving salvation on my way"
I spoke to myself.
I then gain courage to speak few words
"Am sorry Miss
I got panic
in this lonely train
I don't understand
why everybody is so dead sleeping
Even I tried to look around in the train
And wouldn't make it to next boggy
No humane contact
to even speak few words"
She laughed,
"Oh!! Dear... dear!!
you are such a poor soul
I jus came from next boggy
you were so panic to get yourself through"
"But still that doesn't explain
why each sole here
is so dead sleep
even my dear friend here
Mr. Raymond
is not answering several calls"
I questioned.

She smiled and pushed me to sit
I looked at her closely
She was as fair as can be
with great, wavy masses of golden hair
and eyes like pale sapphires.
I seemed somehow to know her face,
and to know it in connection
with some dreamy fear,
but I couldn't recollect at the moment
how and where.
She smile again and came close to me
I went drunken in her beauty
but I marked her brilliant white teeth,
that shone like pearls
against the ruby of her voluptuous lips.
"You are so young and strong
I feel like ripping you
and drink your crimson blood."
She advanced and bent over me
pushing and pressing me back.
There was something about her
that made me uneasy,
some longing and at the same time
some deadly fear.
I felt in my heart a wicked, burning desire
that she would kiss me
with those red lips.
She whispered something
and started laughing
such a silvery, musical laugh
but as hard as though the sound
never could have come
through the softness of human lips.
It was like intorrable, tingling sweetness
of water-glasses when played on
by a cunning hand.

I lay quite,
looking out under my eyelashes
in an agony of delightful anticipation.
I could feel the movement
of her breath upon me.
Sweet it was in one sense,
honey sweet, and sent the same tingling
through the nerves as her voice,
but with a bitter underlying the sweet,
a bitter offensiveness,
as one smells in blood.
I was afraid to raise my eyelids,
but looked out
and saw perfectly under the lashes.
The Lady went on her knees
and bent over me, fairly gloating.
There was a deliberate voluptuousness
which was both thrilling and repulsive,
and as she arched her neck
she licked her lips
like an animal,
till I could see in the lamp light
the moisture shinning on the
scarlet lips and on the red tongue
as it lapped the white sharp teeth.

Lower and lower went her head
as the lips went below
the range of my mouth and the chin
and seemed about to fasten on my throat.
Then she paused,
and I could hear the churning sound
of her tongue as it licked her teeth and lips,
and could feel the hot breath on my neck.
Then the skin of my throat
began to tingle as one's flesh does
when the hand that is to tickle it
approaches nearer and nearer.
I could feel the soft shivering
touch of the lips on the
supersensitive skin of my throat,
and the hard dents of two sharp teeth,
just touch and pushing there.
I closed my eyes in a languorous ecstasy
and waited and waited with beating heart.

But at that instant
another sensation swept through me
as quick as lightning.
As my eyes opened involuntarily
I saw Ray's strong hand grasp
the slender neck of the woman
and with gaint's power draw it back

Yelling "He is Count's Guest
No one lay eyes on him
before Count says."
His eyes were blazing red with fury.
She patheticly said "But Count is..."
He grabbed her through her neck again
and threw her out
through window of the train
while exclaiming
"How dare you? How dare you touch him?"
The woman vanished
with a scream.

I suddenly came to my full senses
and sat straight and erect.
To my surprise
Mr. Ray was laying next to my seat
reading a book under the lamp light
"What happened? You seemed to have a bad dream
You are so wet, sweating.
What you saw?"
I looked around,
outside it was dark as night
or being in that tunnel.
I was confused
I looked around with confusion
"You are palely white
what happened? it was a bad dream
don't worry... we are still on the train
and its been an hour
since you have slept"
He explained to me.
I checked my watch
It was jus' 1am
the only thing I was checking
to ensure my sanity
has now betrayed me.
I admitted "Yeah!! I guess...
had a pretty bad dream.
Last hour seems like a whole day."
He smiled and suggested
"Go back to sleep,
Sleep as much as you can tonite
Coz we will be reaching
3:15am after tomorrow.
so tomorrow's night
you won't be able
to have good sleep."
and wished "But my friend,
have a sweet dream this time!!"

I was still in a shock
every detail was so real
even the pain on my neck
where the dent of her teeth could've been.
I was looking around in confusion.
But I turn and pretend to sleep
to avoid any questions.
Looking at my watch
I saw the seconds to pass
and wishing Morning to come fast.
